Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to oversee maintain and optimize the electrical power distribution control systems and heavy plant machinery at our steel manufacturing facility in Taloja Navi Mumbai. You will be responsible for ensuring continuous production minimizing equipment downtime leading preventive and breakdown maintenance and upholding strict EHS and industrial safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Equipment Maintenance: Inspect troubleshoot and perform breakdown and corrective maintenance on HT/LT power distribution networks switchgears transformers induction furnaces rolling mill machinery EOT cranes and heavy AC/DC motors.
PLC & Automation Control: Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs (Siemens Allen-Bradley etc.) VFD drives SCADA systems and field instrumentation across processing lines.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Plan execute and monitor routine preventive maintenance schedules and condition monitoring to maximize plant uptime.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate electrical failures conduct RCA for critical breakdowns and implement long-term corrective and preventive actions.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce standard safety protocols Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and compliance with Indian Electricity Rules and local industrial regulations.
Spares & Inventory Management: Maintain optimal stock levels for critical electrical spares sensors motor components and circuit breakers to ensure minimal repair delay.
Shift Supervision: Lead and supervise shift electricians technicians and external contractors during routine operations and scheduled shutdown overhauls.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education: B.E. / or Diploma in Electrical Engineering (or Electrical & Electronics Engineering).
Experience: 3-7 years of hands-on electrical maintenance experience in heavy manufacturing ideally in a steel manufacturing plant foundry or heavy engineering unit.
Technical Proficiency:
Hands-on expertise in HT/LT substations power transformers motor control centers (MCC) and industrial automation (PLCs & VFDs).
Proficiency in reading single-line diagrams (SLDs) electrical control schematics and P&IDs.
Familiarity with heavy industrial equipment like induction furnaces continuous casting machines or rolling mills.
Certifications: PWD Electrical Supervisor License / HT Supervisor License issued by the Maharashtra State Electricity Board/Govt. is highly preferred.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving team management and ability to handle operational emergencies effectively.
