Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Maintenance Engineer to oversee maintain and optimize our facilitys electrical systems and this role you will be responsible for both preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime ensure operational safety and improve equipment reliability.
The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills a deep understanding of electrical safety codes and hands-on experience with industrial automation and power distribution systems.
Key Responsibilities Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Plan schedule and execute routine preventive maintenance on electrical equipment machinery and power distribution systems to prevent breakdowns.
Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose troubleshoot and repair complex electrical faults including control panels PLC circuits AC/DC drives motors transformers and switchgears.
System Upgrades: Assist in the installation testing and commissioning of new electrical installations machinery and system modifications.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical maintenance activities strictly adhere to local electrical codes occupational health and safety (OSHA) standards and company safety protocols (e.g. Lockout/Tagout).
Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities equipment breakdowns spare parts inventory and root cause analysis (RCA) reports.
Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs equipment servicing and sourcing of genuine spare parts.
Energy Efficiency: Monitor energy consumption patterns and propose initiatives to optimize power factor and reduce energy wastage.
Key Skills & Technical Competencies Industrial Automation: Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics wiring diagrams and P&IDs. Experience with PLCs (Siemens Allen-Bradley etc.) and SCADA systems is highly desirable.
Power Distribution: Strong knowledge of High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) distribution networks transformers VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) and UPS systems.
Instrumentation: Familiarity with sensors transmitters actuators and pneumatic/hydraulic control systems.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and root-cause analysis skills to quickly resolve critical equipment breakdowns.
Tools Proficiency: Skilled in using electrical testing tools such as multimeters clamp meters insulation testers (Megger) and oscilloscopes.
Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Experience: 2 to 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing plant industrial facility or heavy engineering environment.
Certifications: Valid electrical supervisor license or wireman license issued by a government authority is a major plus.
Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work in rotational shifts and handle emergency breakdown calls on short notice.
