Job Summary
Roles & Responsibilities Dispatch Supervisor (Precast Yard & Logistics)
- Take complete ownership of day-to-day dispatch operations within the precast yard ensuring timely movement of precast elements to project sites as per erection schedules.
- Plan and coordinate trailer positioning loading sequences and dispatch schedules to maximize productivity and minimize vehicle waiting time.
- Supervise loading activities involving heavy precast elements such as beams columns wall panels girders and structural components.
- Coordinate closely with crane operators riggers yard teams and transport contractors to ensure safe and efficient loading operations.
- Verify dispatch schedules element identification codes barcodes RFID tags and loading documentation before releasing materials from the yard.
- Ensure all dispatched elements are loaded in the correct sequence as required by site erection teams to avoid installation delays.
- Monitor and inspect lashing chain binding strapping dunnage placement and cargo securing arrangements to prevent transit damage.
- Conduct final inspections of loaded trailers to verify load stability weight distribution center of gravity and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Manage fleet movement trailer allocation vehicle turnaround time (TAT) and dispatch performance to achieve operational targets.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatched materials vehicle details driver information delivery challans weighbridge slips and gate pass documentation.
- Coordinate with production quality planning and site teams to ensure material availability aligns with project requirements.
- Monitor yard inventory and ensure real-time tracking of precast elements using ERP systems RFID scanners barcode systems or inventory management tools.
- Lead daily toolbox talks and safety briefings communicating loading plans operational priorities and safety requirements to the workforce.
- Enforce strict compliance with EHS standards PPE requirements lifting procedures and safe work practices across all dispatch operations.
- Conduct routine inspections of rigging equipment lifting tools shackles wire ropes slings and lifting accessories to ensure operational safety.
- Establish and maintain safe exclusion zones during crane operations and heavy lifting activities.
- Investigate operational delays dispatch bottlenecks loading issues and safety incidents while implementing corrective actions.
- Supervise dispatch coordinators tally clerks operators riggers drivers and subcontractor teams to ensure smooth yard operations.
- Prepare daily weekly and monthly dispatch reports covering vehicle movements dispatch volumes productivity metrics and operational challenges.
- Liaise with transport vendors and logistics partners to ensure vehicle availability and uninterrupted outbound logistics operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing yard efficiency reducing dispatch cycle times improving safety performance and optimizing logistics costs.
Requirements
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 510 years of experience in precast yards construction logistics heavy material handling infrastructure projects or industrial logistics operations.
- Strong hands-on experience in crane loading rigging trailer operations fleet coordination and dispatch management.
- Sound understanding of precast concrete elements lifting methods transportation requirements and construction site logistics.
- Proven ability to lead large operational teams in a fast-paced construction or manufacturing environment.
- Excellent coordination problem-solving communication and leadership skills.
- Comfortable working in large-scale project sites and managing high-volume dispatch operations.

Required Skills:
Education: Graduate Degree Diploma in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or a Senior Technical Certification in Supply Chain Material Management or Construction Logistics. Experience: 410 years of robust field experience working inside heavy civil infrastructure yards major precast factories or heavy industrial logistics terminals. Core Competencies: Exceptional proficiency in reading structural shop drawings element markings and site installation schedules. Deep practical knowledge of rigging mechanics safe working loads (SWL) crane load charts and industrial cargo-securing methods. Strong familiarity with digital inventory tools handheld tracking scanners (RFID/Barcodes) and spreadsheet tracking.
Required Education:
Graduate Degree Diploma in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or a Senior Technical Certification in Supply Chain Material Management or Construction Logistics.
