DGM Purchase

Position: DGM – Direct & Indirect Purchase

We are looking for an experienced Purchase professional to manage Direct and Indirect Procurement for a leading pharmaceutical formulations company in Hyderabad. The candidate will be responsible for strategic sourcing vendor development cost optimization and ensuring timely availability of materials and services.

1. Direct Procurement

• Manage procurement of APIs excipients raw materials and packaging materials.
• Develop and maintain relationships with approved suppliers.
• Identify new vendors and conduct vendor evaluation and development.
• Negotiate prices payment terms MOQ and delivery schedules.
• Ensure timely availability of materials as per production and planning requirements.
• Coordinate with QA QC R&D Production and Supply Chain teams.
• Monitor material quality lead times and supplier performance.

2. Indirect Procurement

• Handle procurement of engineering spares electrical items consumables and maintenance materials.
• Manage purchase of laboratory chemicals office supplies IT equipment and facility-related services.
• Coordinate procurement for plant utilities civil works and other operational requirements.
• Ensure competitive quotations cost efficiency and timely delivery.
• Manage purchase orders vendor contracts and payment coordination.

3. Procurement Operations & Compliance

• Review purchase requisitions and ensure timely PO generation.
• Maintain procurement records and vendor databases in SAP/ERP.
• Prepare comparative statements and conduct commercial negotiations.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives and inventory optimization.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and pharmaceutical quality requirements.
• Prepare MIS reports related to procurement savings vendor performance and pending orders.

• Qualification: Graduate in any discipline; MBA in Supply Chain / Procurement preferred.
• Experience: 15 years of experience in Purchase / Procurement preferably in pharmaceutical formulations.
• Experience in both direct and indirect procurement is essential.
• Strong knowledge of APIs excipients packaging materials and engineering procurement.
• Experience in vendor development negotiation and cost reduction.
• Proficiency in SAP/ERP and MS Excel.
• Strong communication analytical and team-management skills.
