Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
- Develop implement and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in line with standards such as ISO 9001
- Oversee inspection activities for raw materials in-process fabrication and final products
- Review and approve fabrication drawings welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and quality plans
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues
- Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure timely closure
- Coordinate with production design and procurement teams to resolve quality concerns
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications codes and standards (ASME ASTM etc.)
- Supervise and mentor quality inspectors and junior engineers
- Conduct internal audits and support external/customer audits
- Monitor KPIs related to quality and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure proper documentation traceability and record-keeping
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 8 - 12 years of experience as a quality inspector/QA-QC Engineer.
- Certification in Quality (e.g. Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred)
- Strong knowledge of fabrication processes (welding cutting rolling machining assembly etc.)
- Familiarity with NDT methods (UT RT MT PT VT)
- Hands-on experience with quality tools (8D 5 Why FMEA SPC)
- Knowledge of international standards (ISO 9001 ASME AWS etc.)
- Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience with SAP/QMS systems
Preferred Experience
- Experience in heavy fabrication pressure vessels structural steel Skid fabrication & Verification
- Exposure to customer audits and third-party inspections
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen
