Job Description Datadog APM Full-Stack Observability Architect

Job Summary:

We areseekinga highly skilled and experiencedDatadogSystems Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate willbe responsible formanaging and optimising our monitoring and analytics platformDatadog across both on-premises and cloud environments. This role involves ensuring system performance availability and security whileprovidingactionable insights through comprehensive analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement configure and maintainDatadogacross on-premises and cloud environments ensuring comprehensive monitoring of applications services and infrastructure. This includes leveraging integrations with SolarWinds for in-depth network performance monitoring and management as well asThousand Eyesfor end-to-end visibility into the digital experience across the internet cloud and SaaS applications.

• Develop andmaintaindashboards monitors and alerts thatprovidereal-time insights into system performance availability and security. Utilise the integrated capabilities ofDatadogcreate a unified view of IT health enabling proactive issue resolution and performance optimisation.

• Collaborate with development operations and security teams to integrateDatadog SolarWindsThousand Eyesetc. into the CI/CD pipelinefacilitatingcontinuous monitoring and feedback. This collaboration ensures that all aspects of the systems performance are under surveillance from the core network to application performanceprovidinga holistic view of system health.

• Optimise the use ofDatadogto ensure cost-effectiveness whilemaintaininghigh levelsof performance and reliability. This involves configuring these tools to complement each other reducing overlap and maximising the unique strengths of each platform.

• Stay current with new features and technologies related toDatadog SolarWinds andThousand Eyes evaluating and implementing them asappropriate tomeet business needs. This includes participating in webinars workshops and other learning opportunities to understand how integrations can be enhanced andleveragedfor improved monitoring and analytics.

• Additional Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in integrating other monitoring tools with Datadog.

• Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems engineering or operations with a strong focus on monitoring and analytics platforms.

• Proven experience withDatadog including implementation configuration and optimisation in hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud).

• Strong understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud) and their integration withDatadog.

• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g. Python Bash) for automation and integration purposes.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.

• Strong communicationand collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across different teams and departments.

• Relevant certifications inDatadog cloud computing or systems engineering are a plus.

• Working Conditions:

• This position may require occasional evening and weekend work to perform system upgrades maintenance or emergency troubleshooting.

• Remote work options are available with expectations for regular communication and participation in virtual meetings.
