ABOUT NOTION PRESS

Notion Press is Indias largest book publishing platform with over 100000 books published and sold in 150 countries. We are a 13-year-old platform and currently publish a new book every 30 minutes. Notion Press is a global platform for anyone who believes in the power of words and the impact it can have on the world we live in. Our vision is to democratize publishing and help writers to publish and sell their books directly to readers around the world. We are a 120 strong team currently operating in India looking to expand to South-East Asia Europe and North America.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

-Read content and correct for errors in spelling punctuation and grammar

-Review edited work and ensure all corrections/comments marked by the author or the Notion Press editor is incorporated

-Rewrite when needed to make it easier for readers to understand a manuscript

-Suggest Titles and Subtitles based on an authors request

-If needed communicate with authors regarding editing queries via comments in manuscripts note to authors calls or emails

-Work independently and report back to the Editor at Notion Press on specific tasks as assigned to you

-Ensure all Notion Press manuscripts meet or exceed the Notion Press editorial quality standards

-Language Edit and/or Quality Check assigned books as per Notion Press quality standards with minimum intervention from your reporting Editor

-Attention to detail and a passion for editorial excellence

-Troubleshoot and display the ability to deal with fast track/difficult manuscripts

Requirements

-1-2 years of editing experience

-Excellent grammar and spelling skills

-Strong writing/editing/proofreading skills

-Hands on experience with MS Office and Adobe and other publishing tools like PerfectIT or Grammarly

-An eye for detail and be very accurate in their work along with critical thinking

-Imagination and good visual sense

-The ability to be diplomatic with feedback to first-time authors

-To be able to give clear accurate instructions to authors

-To understand their target audience

-To be able to make decisions independently

-To be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines

-Awareness of best practices in editing and industry trends in self-publishing
