Purpose of role.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Compliance & Governance Analyst to join the flydocs team in India.
With a significant part of our workforce based in India maintaining a strong understanding of the Indian legislative regulatory and governance landscape is fundamental to our business. This role will provide dedicated local compliance expertise helping flydocs India understand and meet its obligations respond effectively to regulatory change and maintain appropriate governance policies controls and procedures.
You will act as a key point of knowledge for Indian regulatory and governance requirements working closely with stakeholders across the business to identify applicable obligations understand their impact and support their effective implementation.
The role will also support flydocs wider compliance assurance and enterprise risk management frameworks. Previous risk management experience is beneficial but we are particularly interested in candidates who bring strong knowledge and practical experience of the Indian regulatory and governance environment.
Work arrangement:
We are more interested in what you bring to our team than where you are located so this role can be performed remotely from anywhere in India.
You will regularly collaborate with colleagues through Microsoft Teams and other digital channels. There may also be occasional requirements to visit our office in Vadodara Gujarat and attend other business locations where required.

The Compliance & Governance Analyst will work closely with stakeholders across flydocs India and the wider organisation and will report directly to the Compliance & Governance Lead Digital Ecosystem.
You will help the organisation understand its regulatory obligations maintain effective governance and compliance arrangements identify potential gaps and provide appropriate guidance challenge and assurance.
How will you contribute to the business
A key part of this role will be developing and maintaining our understanding of the regulatory and governance requirements applicable to our operations in India.
You will:
- Act as a key point of knowledge for Indian legislative regulatory and governance requirements.
- Monitor developments in Indian legislation and regulation assess their potential impact on the business and coordinate appropriate actions with relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain an India compliance obligations framework and compliance calendar ensuring applicable requirements responsibilities actions and evidence are clearly documented and regularly reviewed.
- Support compliance with applicable Indian data protection and privacy requirements including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act) and associated Rules working with relevant privacy HR IT and business stakeholders.
- Support and coordinate corporate and secretarial compliance for flydocs India including Board and general meeting requirements statutory filings resolutions and associated governance activities.
- Work closely with functions including HR Finance IT Information Security and operational teams to identify regulatory obligations and support their effective implementation.
- Manage and monitor entity-level registrations licences and renewals ensuring associated compliance requirements are maintained.
- Identify actual or potential compliance gaps and provide appropriate recommendations challenge and escalations where required.
- Provide regular reporting on India compliance activities regulatory developments identified issues and remediation actions.
- Support and undertake internal compliance and management-system audits including monitoring agreed corrective and improvement actions.
- Help ensure appropriate controls policies and procedures are established maintained communicated and periodically reviewed.
- Build strong professional relationships across the business to encourage effective cooperation communication and a positive compliance culture.
- Support supplier compliance and due-diligence activities including reviewing supplier contracts and NDAs and compliance considerations for new and existing suppliers.
- Support and promote the existing India Risk Management Guild and help stakeholders understand their responsibilities for identifying and managing risk.
- Contribute to wider compliance governance and risk projects across flydocs and the Digital Ecosystem as required.
- Provide wider support to the Compliance & Governance Lead Digital Ecosystem.
Your first 30 days:
We will support you throughout your onboarding so you can understand our business build relationships and begin adding value quickly.
During your first 30 days you will:
- Develop an understanding of flydocs our business model customers and product portfolio.
- Become familiar with flydocs Indias structure and key business functions.
- Meet key stakeholders across India and the wider organisation and understand how compliance interacts with their areas of responsibility.
- Become familiar with our existing compliance and governance framework policies procedures and documentation.
- Understand our ISO-certified management systems and how they support the wider compliance environment.
- Become familiar with our existing India regulatory obligations and current compliance activities.
- Understand our Enterprise Risk Management framework and India Risk Management Guild.
- Ask lots of questions we encourage curiosity and constructive challenge.
Your first 90 days:
By around 90 days you will:
- Have established effective working relationships with key stakeholders across flydocs India.
- Begin acting as a local point of contact for India compliance and governance matters.
- Proactively monitor relevant Indian regulatory and legislative developments.
- Review existing India compliance obligations and help identify any areas requiring further attention or improvement.
- Begin maintaining the India compliance obligations framework and regulatory calendar.
- Support and undertake internal audit and assurance activities.
- Begin providing meaningful updates on compliance activities regulatory developments risks and actions.
- Become increasingly confident supporting the companys established risk management processes.
At Around 180 days and beyond:
You will:
- Have developed strong partnerships with key stakeholders responsible for maintaining compliance across flydocs India.
- Maintain effective oversight of the India compliance framework and provide proactive guidance challenge and assurance to relevant stakeholders.
- Proactively identify regulatory developments and help the business understand and respond to their impact.
- Maintain oversight of applicable Indian regulatory obligations and compliance status.
- Support stakeholders in addressing identified compliance gaps and monitor agreed actions through to completion.
- Provide clear and meaningful compliance and governance reporting to relevant stakeholders.
- Independently support internal audit governance and assurance activities.
- Confidently support the existing Enterprise Risk Management framework and Risk Management Guild.
- Continuously assess existing activities and processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Take ownership of new compliance and governance projects as the business and regulatory environment evolve.
- Be inquisitive resilient and comfortable providing constructive challenge while developing practical solutions.

- Practical experience in a compliance governance legal company secretarial regulatory or similar role within India.
- Strong working knowledge of the Indian legislative regulatory and corporate governance environment.
- The ability to research interpret and clearly communicate legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Experience monitoring regulatory developments and translating changes into practical business actions.
- Knowledge of Indian data protection and privacy requirements particularly the Digital Personal Data Protection Act.
- Experience maintaining compliance registers regulatory calendars governance records policies and procedures.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English with the ability to communicate complex matters clearly and practically.
- Confidence building relationships and working with stakeholders at different levels of an organisation.
- The ability to provide constructive challenge and appropriately escalate compliance concerns.
- Experience creating adapting or implementing policies procedures and controls.
- The ability to understand and interpret relevant contractual terms and conditions.
- Ability to work independently manage competing priorities and adapt to change.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
Experience of internal audit ISO management systems enterprise risk management or supplier due diligence would be advantageous but is not essential. We can support the right candidate in developing their knowledge and experience in these areas.
