Job Summary

Job Purpose
Credit Analyst for sourcing MSME working capital loans for Small Business lending vertical
To Review & Evaluate Credit proposals created by team for MSME deals involving Term Loans working capital limit CGTMSE backed limit Purchase Bill Discounting
Complete ownership of assigned portfolio of accounts including regular monitoring early warning identifications (EWIs) deferral tracking and working on appropriate account strategy in conjunction with Business and Risk teams in line with the BFLs risk appetite
Duties and Responsibilities
Appraisal of Proposal:
Review credit proposals (CAMs /Interim CAMS /Ad-hoc CAMs) submitted by Credit managers teams on assigned set of accounts and assess the risk involved comprehensively.
Convey a clear opinion regarding the feasibility of the proposed transaction/ proposed facilities from risk point of view covering business model industry risk structure and financial risk.
Awareness of the product proposed and suitability to the client needs
Reviewing Complete / accurate CAMs / Coverage and Intensity of Diligence & Adherence to Credit Policy and extant regulatory guidelines
Compliance of underwriting process and liaising with Valuation & Legal Agencies for collateral assessment.
Ensuring adherence to pre-defined TAT and Delegation of Authority for credit appraisals
Gathering market intelligence and sharing with the risk policy team & getting them incorporated in the policy programs for improvement in portfolio health & business growth.
Market Research and Feedback for credit policy and new product launch based on market conditions.
Portfolio Monitoring:
Ongoing monitoring of accounts including tracking developments in the industry and the account to identify stresses early and work with Credit Monitoring business teams in devising appropriate mitigation strategies wherever required.
Reviewing cases suggested by Central Monitoring Unit as per action staircase engaging further with RMs and clients for evaluation.
Independently manage C-level and VP-level client executives both internally and externally; Appropriate level of client calling to develop strong understanding of client business and industry dynamics
Management Reporting presentation to the management on a monthly basis and rapid portfolio review on a quarterly basis
Team Management:
Foster a cohesive and high-performing team by promoting collaboration knowledge sharing and continuous learning with a strong focus on industry expertise.
Providing the team with an encouraging atmosphere whereby the individuals can work independently.
Review the CAMs for the team and ensuring factual accuracy and confirming the BFL approved policy.
Collaboration with the Stakeholders:
To interact with the relationship managers pro-actively to assess the main risks and propose mitigants at various stages of credit process.
Suggesting policy changes or Program related developments to Risk Counterparts if required
Engaging with Business Central Monitoring & Risk Team Operations Team Legal and other stakeholders (collateral agencies) as appropriate for all credit processes
Liaison with COE team for process enhancement and system enablement.
Key Decisions / Dimensions
Recommendation- Engaging with Business Team for onboarding of clients and setting up exposure limits
Recalibration: Alignment with the Business Team for right-sizing and down-sizing of the portfolio based on the recommendations from Portfolio Monitoring Team External Environment & Credit health of the with Business Team to ensure to meet its AOP targets
Managing Early MOB cases
Maintain portfolio hygiene
Ensuring Nil Losses in the Book
Major Challenges
The NBFC segment is susceptible to regulatory and legislative risks
Limited Product Suite for a Corporate Borrower considering the vast NBFC space
Required Qualifications and Experience
a)Qualifications
CA/CFA or MBA in Finance
Key Skills:
Strong credit assessment skills preferably in SME Mid Corporate Segment
Expert knowledge in analyzing Financial Statements & Collaterals w.r.t Legal Clearance and Valuations.
Banking Product & Process Knowledge
Understanding of accounting principles and Regulatory Knowledge
Excellent knowledge of competition & current trends in financial Industry
Strong written and verbal communication skills
b)Work Experience
Overall 6-8 years in credit and risk management in SME Wholesale or Retail credit with minimum 6 years of experience in business banking from reputed financial institutions
Exposure to Banking/ Credit Rating Agencies
