Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Civil Quantity Surveyor to manage all aspects of cost estimation quantity take-off billing and contract administration for civil construction projects. The role involves close coordination with project teams contractors and vendors to ensure accurate cost control timely billing and effective project financial management.
- Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) from drawings and site data.
- Perform accurate quantity take-off from AutoCAD drawings and project documents.
- Conduct rate analysis for various construction items based on market trends.
- Prepare cost estimates during project planning and execution stages.
- Reconcile estimated quantities with contractor billed quantities.
- Prepare and verify client billing and interim payment certificates.
- Certify sub-contractor bills after verification of work completed.
- Maintain and update measurement books (M-Book) and site records.
- Ensure accurate documentation for all billing and payment processes.
- Generate client invoices as per required formats and contractual terms.
- Monitor project costs and ensure adherence to budget.
- Track material consumption variations and cost deviations.
- Prepare cost analysis reports and project financial summaries (CTC).
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and report variances.
- Assist in procurement planning by forecasting material quantities.
- Coordinate with procurement team for material sourcing and vendor finalization.
- Participate in contractor negotiation and rate finalization.
- Evaluate vendor/sub-contractor performance.
- Conduct regular site visits to verify progress and measurements.
- Coordinate with site engineers contractors and project teams.
- Supervise and ensure coordination between civil electrical and mechanical works.
- Monitor contractor work progress and resolve quantity-related issues.
- Prepare MIS reports on project progress cost and billing status.
- Maintain complete project documentation including variations and claims.
- Support in collection of payments and follow-ups with clients.
- Report project status and financial updates to Head Projects.
- Strong expertise in Quantity Surveying & BOQ preparation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (for quantity extraction)
- Strong knowledge of rate analysis and cost estimation
- Experience in billing certification and M-book maintenance
- Understanding of construction materials and market rates
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Strong communication and coordination abilities
- Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools
Required Skills:
Strong hands-on experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D and Navisworks. Proficiency in creating 3D models Piping Isometrics GA drawings and Piping -depth knowledge of Piping BOM MTO and Piping Material Specifications (PMS). Familiarity with piping support systems and basic understanding of stress analysis. Solid understanding of P&ID for boilers and power plants. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and team interactions. Strong leadership abilities to manage and guide a team towards successful project completion.
Required Education:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) or Bachelors Degree in Engineering (BE) with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the design stream.
