Position - Career Counsellor
Job Purpose
To guide and support students in making informed decisions about their academic subjects career choices and higher education pathways based on their interests strengths abilities and aspirations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group career counselling to students.
- Conduct career and aptitude assessments to understand students interests strengths and career preferences.
- Guide students on subject selection academic pathways and future career options.
- Provide guidance on universities colleges courses scholarships and admission requirements in India and overseas.
- Support students with university applications essays personal statements interviews and admission processes.
- Maintain individual career plans and counselling records for students.
- Organise career fairs university visits career talks workshops and information sessions.
- Coordinate with universities and external career guidance organisations.
- Conduct parent counselling sessions and keep parents informed about higher education opportunities and pathways.
- Work closely with teachers coordinators school leadership and pastoral teams to support student development.
- Stay updated on university admission trends entrance examinations scholarships and emerging career opportunities.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all school safeguarding and student wellbeing policies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors/Masters Degree Counselling Education Career Counselling or a related field.
- Certification in Career Counselling is preferred.
- 13 years of relevant experience preferably in a school or international school.
- Experience in university counselling/admissions is highly desirable.
