Job Summary
Job Title: BU HR Manager
Location: Chennai

Role Purpose
- Act as a strategic HR Business Partner to the Business Unit leadership and manage the end-to-end people agenda for one of the business units.
- Partner closely with business leaders to understand business priorities workforce challenges organizational requirements and translate them into effective people strategies and HR interventions.
- Drive a strong employee-centric performance-oriented and high-engagement culture while ensuring alignment with organizational policies and business objectives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders and employees on all key people-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the strategic HR Business Partner for the assigned Business Unit supporting approximately 300 employees.
- Partner with business leaders to understand business priorities and translate them into effective people strategies and HR interventions.
- Drive the end-to-end employee lifecycle including workforce planning talent management employee engagement and retention.
- Lead and manage the Performance Management System (PMS) including goal setting performance reviews calibration and performance improvement initiatives.
- Partner with leaders on talent identification succession planning career development and retention of high-potential employees.
- Identify capability gaps and work closely with the L&D team to drive relevant learning and leadership development initiatives.
- Handle employee relations grievances conflict resolution disciplinary matters and other sensitive employee issues.
- Drive employee engagement and culture-building initiatives to enhance employee experience morale and productivity.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition and business leaders on manpower planning and hiring for critical and business requirements.
- Provide coaching and advisory support to managers on people management team effectiveness performance and employee development.
- Track key HR metrics such as headcount attrition retention performance and engagement and provide actionable insights to business leaders.
- Ensure effective implementation of HR policies processes compliance requirements and organizational initiatives across the Business Unit.
Preferred Background
- 10 15 years of progressive HR experience with significant experience in an HR Business Partner / HR Generalist role.
- Experience managing the end-to-end HR agenda for a sizeable employee population.
- Candidates from SME Lending banking NBFC insurance capital markets wealth management investment services or other closely related industries will be preferred.
- Exposure to a business-facing target-driven customer-oriented or sales-led environment would be an added advantage.
- Experience working closely with senior business leaders and managing complex people requirements is essential.
Education
- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent postgraduate qualification in HR / Personnel Management.
