Automotive Aftermarket Diagnostic Architect
Job Summary
**Responsibilities:**
- Serve as the subject matter expert in interpreting and analyzing intricate OEM diagnostic specifications
- Translate complex OEM diagnostic requirements into actionable diagnostic data designs and implementation strategies
- Identify potential ambiguities or gaps in OEM diagnostic specifications and proactively seek clarification from internal and external stakeholders
- Lead the architectural design of new diagnostic features and platform enhancements
- Define best practices standards and design patterns for diagnostic data development
- Proactively identify diagnose and debug complex issues within diagnostic data tool interactions and vehicle communication protocols
- Utilize advanced debugging techniques protocol analyzers and logging tools to pinpoint root causes of failures
- Implement effective solutions and preventive measures to enhance diagnostic data reliability and accuracy
- Design and create workflow and test sequences using IDEs such as BDX or Grade-X
- Conduct simulation testing of authored diagnostic content using both virtual setups and vehicle testing environments
- Collaborate with the validation team to ensure thorough and efficient testing protocols
- Provide expert support and guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams in troubleshooting diagnostic challenges
- Mentor and guide junior engineers providing technical oversight and fostering their growth in diagnostic data architecture
- Stay abreast of emerging automotive diagnostic technologies protocols and industry trends evaluating their potential impact on the product roadmap
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences both technical and non-technical
- Participate in design reviews technical discussions and project planning meetings
