This role is part of Alcons Information Technology function a team that delivers cutting-edge technology solutions to Alcon associates and customers to help our people and the world see brilliantly. The Associate II Software Engineering (Science/Tech/Engineering Path) is primarily responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions as part of an engineering team while enhancing technical skills and contributing to team goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Write test and debug software code based on design specifications and resolve issues with existing software
Collaborate with senior engineers to improve software solutions and participate in code reviews to ensure software development best practices are followed
Expand technical knowledge by learning from more experienced team members and contribute to individual tasks within larger engineering projects
Impact software functionality and contribute to the overall quality of software systems
Make decisions on coding tasks debugging and minor technical challenges under supervision and contribute to decision-making through code reviews and feedback. All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) maintaining accurate and complete documentation ensuring rigorous quality control and completing all required training. Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization. Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations.
Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree with 3-6 years of experience in both manual and automation testing.
Design develop and maintain scalable and maintainable test automation frameworks using Python C# and tools like Ranorex with strong experience in BDD frameworks (SpecFlow Behave etc.).
Write test and debug software code based on design specifications and resolve issues with existing software.
Perform functional integration system and regression testing for software integrated with medical devices.
Develop and automate API test cases and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including development QA and DevOps to align automation solutions with project needs.
Collaborate with senior engineers to improve software solutions and participate in code reviews to ensure software development best practices are followed
Implement and integrate Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks like SpecFlow or Behave with C#.
Expand technical knowledge by learning from more experienced team members and contribute to individual tasks within larger engineering projects
Impact software functionality and contribute to the overall quality of software systems.
Work hours: 1 PM to 10 PM IST
