Assistant Manager NDT
Job Summary
The Assistant Manager - NDT is responsible for leading managing and continuously improving Non-Destructive Testing operations. This role involves planning and supervising NDT inspections ensuring compliance with international standards managing a team of NDT technicians supporting manufacturing/repair teams and driving certification safety and quality initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
Lead and supervise the NDT team to ensuretimelyandaccurateinspection of components.
Manage day-to-day NDT operations planning ofmanpower and workload distribution.
Develop andmaintainNDT procedures techniques and inspection plans per applicable standards.
Technical & Operational Support:
Ensure compliance with international standards such as ASNT SNT-TC-1A ISO 9712 ASTM ASME etc.
Review and approve inspection reports defect evaluations and final acceptance.
Collaborate with Engineering Production and Quality teams to resolve inspection-related issues.
Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for NDT-related defects or failures.
Training & Certification:
Identifytraining needs and drive skill development and cross-certification of NDT personnel.
Ensure qualification certification and re-certification of NDT Level I/II inspectors.
Process Improvement & Audits:
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in inspection reliability process cycle time and equipment uptime.
Support internal and external audits (customer third-party ISO etc.) related to NDT.
Implement and monitor KPIs (e.g. First Pass Yield Repair Cycle Time Defect Rate).
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure safety practices are followed during all NDT activities especially for radiography confined space and elevated work.
Maintain calibration and compliance records for NDT instruments and equipment.
Qualifications & Experience:
B. Tech/ B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 815 years of hands-on and supervisory experience in NDT.
Valid Level II certifications in UT& IRand preferably VT. Level II (ASNT or ISO 9712)
Experience in inspecting composite materialsor turbine components is an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of quality systems documentation and regulatory standards.

Proficiencyin Microsoft Office NDT software and digital reporting tools.
Ability to handle high-pressure situations and tight schedules.
