Assistant Design Manager (Formwork)

Role Summary

The Assistant Design Manager is responsible for leading the India-based formwork design team and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality compliant formwork designs in support of factory production and project requirements. The role carries accountability for team performance workload management and meeting agreed production targets.

Key Accountabilities

• Lead manage and develop the formwork design team based in India.
• Plan coordinate and prioritise design workloads to meet monthly production and delivery targets.
• Ensure formwork designs are fit for purpose compliant with project requirements and aligned with factory manufacturing needs.
• Assist the Technical Design Manager as the primary design interface with Factory Business Development and Project teams.
• Manage design deliverables changes and priorities across multiple projects.
• Monitor performance identify risks and escalate issues that may impact quality safety cost or programme.
• Identify skills gaps within the team and request appropriate training or development support.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes standards and ways of working.

Authority & Responsibility

• Accountable for the performance output and capability of the assigned design team.
• Responsible for achieving agreed design production targets and delivery commitments.
• Authority to recommend resource adjustments training needs and process improvements within the design function.

General

• Maintain professional standards and confidentiality at all times.
• Work flexibly and support business needs during peak periods.
• Undertake any other duties reasonably required to support the effective operation of the Design function.

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in engineering (Civil Mechanical or Construction) 
• Minimum five (5) years of formwork design experience
• Strong design skills in AutoCAD 2D & 3D
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office  
• Well-developed analytical skills   
• Ability to work individually and in a team environment on standard and major projects 
• Ability to manage multiple projects while adhering to strict deadlines and budgets 
• Good listening and probing skills to diagnose client requirements 
• Able to work independently and as a team player in a results-driven fast-paced environment 
• Willingness to be involved hands-on in projects if required 
• Engaging personality and confident attitude 
• Excellent communication skills in English language
