About the Role
As a Resident Engineer you will serve as the primary technical interface between the customer and HARMAN engineering teams supporting vehicle integration validation launch and production activities. This is an individual contributor role that requires strong technical expertise in automotive electronics issue investigation and customer coordination. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve customer-reported issues support software releases and ensure successful product launches and post-production support activities. You will be based at the customer site or plant location and play a critical role in maintaining customer satisfaction and project success.
What You Will Do
- Act as the primary technical interface between customer engineering teams and HARMAN development teams.
- Support vehicle integration validation launch readiness and production activities for automotive programs.
- Collect vehicle logs reproduce field issues and coordinate root cause analysis with engineering teams.
- Flash software builds and support customer evaluations trials and vehicle testing activities.
- Track customer-reported defects and drive issue resolution with System Software Validation and Quality teams.
- Coordinate activities across Program Management Manufacturing Validation System Engineering and Software teams to ensure timely deliverables.
- Participate in customer meetings provide technical updates and communicate project status effectively.
- Support SOP ramp-up and post-SOP production issue investigations.
- Maintain defect tracking systems and ensure timely escalation of critical blockers and customer concerns.
- Facilitate communication between customer stakeholders and HARMAN teams to ensure successful program execution.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Bachelors degree in Electronics Electrical Engineering Automotive Engineering Computer Science or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in automotive electronics preferably in TCU Telematics Connectivity or related domains.
- Strong understanding of CAN protocols UDS diagnostics flashing tools and vehicle log analysis.
- Experience with vehicle integration validation processes and automotive development life cycles.
- Hands-on experience with Jira ALM or similar defect management tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Excellent customer-facing communication coordination and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic customer-site environment while coordinating with global engineering teams.
- Understanding of automotive product launches production support and quality processes.
Bonus Points if You Have
- Experience with Linux and Android-based automotive platforms.
- Hands-on knowledge of CANoe CANalyzer and automotive diagnostic tools.
- Experience in modem telematics connectivity and network debugging.
- Exposure to vehicle launch support and post-SOP production issue management.
- Familiarity with OEM development and validation processes.
- Experience working with global automotive teams and customer locations.
