Accountant
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join the finance team. The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions ensuring accuracy maintaining financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and standards.
The role will also involve supporting the financial management and reporting requirements of civil and construction projects.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Manage accounts payable accounts receivable and general ledger entries.
Prepare financial statements balance sheets income statements and other financial reports as required.
Collaborate with the finance team to develop and monitor budgets.
Provide insights for cost optimization and effective resource allocation.
Ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations.
Prepare and file tax returns including Income Tax GST and other relevant taxes.
Assist with internal and external audits.
Provide necessary documentation and explanations of financial transactions.
Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and cash transactions.
Ensure accurate recording and tracking of funds.
Oversee accounts payable functions.
Process payments to vendors and contractors in a timely manner.
Analyze financial data and identify trends.
Provide meaningful financial insights to support management decision-making.
Perform periodic reconciliation of accounts.
Identify and resolve discrepancies.
Stay updated with accounting standards principles and applicable industry regulations.
Ensure compliance with required accounting practices.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
Support the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Monitor project costs and expenses.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend measures to optimize spending.
Effectively utilize accounting software and financial management tools for maintaining records and reporting.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
Relevant professional certification such as CA or CPA will be an advantage.
Proven experience as an Accountant preferably in the civil and construction industry or a similar field.
Strong understanding of accounting principles financial analysis and reporting.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining financial records.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with accounting and financial management software such as Tally ERP or SAP.
Ability to identify financial issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
