Job Summary
accountant is responsible for managing financial records ensuring legal compliance and analyzing data to support business decisions. Core duties include reconciling accounts processing payroll preparing financial statements (like balance sheets) computing taxes and advising management on cost-saving responsibilities span across several distinct but interconnected areas:1. Financial Record Keeping & ReportingRecording Transactions: Maintaining accurate up-to-date daily ledgers of income expenses assets and Statements: Preparing regular cash flow statements balance sheets and income (profit and loss) Reconciliations: Verifying internal records by matching them against bank statements and other external accounts to resolve discrepancies.2. Tax Planning & ComplianceTax Preparation: Computing taxes ensuring deductions are properly applied and filing annual or periodic tax Adherence: Ensuring all financial records and practices align with statutory laws and accounting frameworks.3. Budgeting & Financial AnalysisForecasting: Developing budgets monitoring cash flows and creating financial forecasts to support organizational Analysis: Analyzing financial data to identify spending trends assess liquidity and highlight cost-saving opportunities.4. Auditing & ControlInternal & External Audits: Conducting internal audits for accuracy and collaborating with external auditors to prepare necessary reporting Controls: Designing and implementing robust financial policies to prevent fraud and manage financial risk.5. Day-to-Day OperationsAccounts Payable/Receivable: Processing vendor payments (AP) and tracking incoming revenue from clients (AR).Payroll Processing: Calculating wages taxes and deductions and ensuring timely payroll execution.
Required Skills:
Work experience as an Accountant. Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
