Make an impact
- Administrate and operate scalable and secure database systems (MS SQL MySQL Oracle MariaDB PostgreSQL etc.)
- optimize database performance through indexing query tuning and resource management
- implement and maintain data backup recovery and disaster recovery strategies
- troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to database services
- collaborate with software engineers data analysts and DevOps teams to support application development and data integration
- monitor database health and proactively address issues related to performance availability and security
- share knowledge within the IT department proactively through knowledge sharing and the creation of knowledge base articles
- stay up to date with the latest MS SQL Oracle MySQL or other technology features and updates to optimize usage
- collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements
- ensure compliance with data governance and privacy regulations
- manage execute or support IT Projects when required
- work with other IT Departments in KUKA Group as needed
- support audits and certifications (TISAX ISO27001 etc.)
- defines and enforces department operating policies procedures and budget
- adhere to corporate policies and procedures and legal requirements
- performs other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Technology or combined equivalent in education and experience
- 3 years experience in database engineering or administration
- strong proficiency in relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL MySQL SQL Server Oracle MariaDB etc.) and/or NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB Cassandra)
- first experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure GCP) and database-as-a-service offerings
- certifications in database technologies or cloud platforms
- first experience with automation tools is a benefit CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC Python Ansible etc.)
- excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- able to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment with strong customer service orientation
- strong written and verbal communication up and down the organization.
