(Senior) Engineer Vehicle Dynamics Driving Simulator (mfdiverse) REF96809W

At our tire test facility the Contidrom we operate our dynamic driving simulator in which subjective tire tests are conducted based on simulations. The driving simulator serves as the technological interface between subjective vehicle testing and simulation.

As the interface between the dynamic driving simulator the objective testing department and vehicle simulation this role makes a significant contribution to the realistic representation of the vehicle and tire behavior within the Continental simulation environment. It ensures consistency between driving tests simulation and tire development.

Your main tasks are:

• Implementation and maintenance of vehicle and tire models in the driving simulator environment  
• Planning and execution of driving simulator sessions
• Programming of driving simulator applications and test data evaluation tools
• Technical evaluation of tire characteristics taking tire mechanics into account
• Support in the creation parameterization and interpretation of tire models
• Evaluation and analysis of vehicle test data from objective driving tests (e.g. handling lateral dynamics)
• Planning of test series selection of appropriate measurement equipment and test vehicles

Qualifications :

• Completed degree in automotive engineering mechanical engineering physics or a comparable field
• Several years of experience in passenger car vehicle dynamics and vehicle simulation preferably in the area of tire development
• Experience in leading technical project teams
• Very good knowledge of passenger car vehicle dynamics and simulation (e.g. IPG CarMaker VICarRealTime or similar)
• Very good knowledge in the creation parameterization and interpretation of tire models (e.g. MF-Tire FTire or comparable models)
• Experience in the evaluation and analysis of driving test data from objective tests (e.g. handling lateral force)
• Solid programming experience (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink NI Diadem Python or similar)
• Very good command of English both written and spoken; German is an advantage
• Ideally experience working in international teams
• Ability to work in a team and think interdisciplinarily as well as initiative sense of responsibility and a strong quality orientation
• Willingness to travel to international test sites and to OEM customers
