Senior Backend Engineer (Python) — mfd

Youll join a small senior team where your decisions have real impact.

Tasks

- Design build and operate scalable backend services (Python / FastAPI) and REST APIs.
- Model and optimize PostgreSQL schemas; write efficient async queries.
- Own services end-to-end: architecture implementation testing deployment and monitoring.
- Integrate third-party APIs and internal microservices behind a gateway.
- Improve reliability performance and security under high concurrency.
- Collaborate with product and frontend to ship features that matter.
- Mentor mid-level engineers and raise the bar on code quality.

Requirements

- 5 years building production backend systems in Python.
- Strong experience with FastAPI (or Flask/Django) and async programming.
- Solid PostgreSQL skills: schema design indexing query optimization.
- Experience designing and scaling REST APIs and microservices.
- Comfortable with Docker CI/CD and cloud (AWS preferred).
- Good understanding of auth (JWT/OAuth) caching and message queues.
- Clear written and spoken English; pragmatic ownership mindset.
Nice to have: Kubernetes SQLAlchemy observability (Prometheus/Grafana) LLM/AI integrations
