Description

The Junior Underwriter supports the Underwriter or Market Manager responsible for the local/market accounts in terms of marketing underwriting pricing and administrative activities. We are a dynamic international team that works in an agile manner. The cross-border team (Cologne Zurich) is responsible for accounts emanating from South & North Eastern Europe. The Junior Underwriter will make good use of SCORs modern tools and contribute towards the companys targets.



Responsibilities
  • Marketing/Underwriting
    • Supports the Underwriter or Market Manager in:
      • Action planning and setting of targets per client
      • Acquisition of new and managing of existing business
      • Customer support and responsiveness to clients
      • Assessment of offers for reinsurance programs; this includes negotiating terms and conditions underwriting and pricing the underlying portfolio all within the scope of the SCOR underwriting/pricing authorities and guidelines
      • Collaborating with all relevant departments (actuarial/pricing claims legal etc.)
      • Travel with the Market Manager or Underwriter. Participate in client visits.
    • Prepare market and balance-sheet analyses
    • Prepare continuous portfolio analyses and profitability analyses
    • Contribute and support P&C strategic initiatives as required

  • Administration
    • Review and prepare contractual documents presentations and statistical analysis both for internal and external use
    • Prepare client visits data analyses and reviews in cooperation with colleagues and Market Manager
    • Enter data relevant for contracting in electronic systems (e.g. xAct Pricing OMEGA)

Special Projects

On demand: Work on underwriting technical and marketing projects or studies



Qualifications

Experience

  • Work experience in (re)insurance with a focus on underwriting is a strong advantage

  • Very good knowledge in Finance Mathematics and Accounting Economy or Law

  • Advanced IT skills of standard software (MS Office)

Required Education

  • University degree/Masters degree in Economics Mathematics Insurance Business Administration or Law with the main focus on insurance business or a qualified insurance operation manager
