The Central Europe Engineering Leader (m/f/d) is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the performance and operation of engineering offices across the Central Europe region.The role drives high-quality solutions aligned with company policies and regional strategies while leading and developing a talented team championing a Lean culture to maximize efficiency eliminate waste and continuously improve engineering delivery across all regional teams.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
EHS Accountability:
- Integrate Environment Health and Safety (EHS) standards into all design processes.
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement regional engineering strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Adapt team competencies to meet evolving market needs including Cybersecurity AI and BIM (Building Information Modelling).
Operational Excellence:
- Manage engineering workload plans and allocate key resources to projects.
- Define and execute the make-or-buy strategy for engineering activities in collaboration with Operations. Leverage internal engineering execution centers and external 3rd party expertise to support project execution.
- Apply Lean resource management principles to optimize utilization and reduce non-value-adding activities.
People Management:
- Lead mentor and motivate regional engineering teams.
- Conduct competence assessments and develop professional growth plans.
Quality & Continuous Improvement:
- Design and drive Lean initiativesthat increase efficiency reduce waste and enhance the competitiveness of the regional engineering team.
- Champion Lean methodologies(e.g. Value Stream Mapping Kaizen 5S PDCA DMS) within engineering workflows design processes and project delivery cycles.
- Capture and systematically apply Return of Experience (RoE)to continuously refine processes prevent recurrence of issues and enhance future project outcomes .
- Measure and track Lean KPIsto demonstrate tangible improvements in productivity quality and delivery performance.
Process & Tools Integration:
- Ensure alignment of engineering processes and tools with the Engineering Management Handbook (EMH).
- Collaborate with IT to secure and maintain engineering tools and infrastructure.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
- Masters degree in Engineering or related field or proven equivalent experience
Experience:
- Significant experience in an EPC environment within T&D Power Generation or Oil & Gas.
- Proven leadership in managing large engineering teams and complex project
- Proven experience in Lean methodologies and their application in engineering environments
Technical Expertise:
- Mastery of engineering processes (e.g. Civil Work Electrical Design).
- Proficiency with engineering management tools and software.
- Hands-on experience withLean toolssuch as Value Stream Mapping Kaizen facilitation 5S and visual management system and Daily Management Systems (DMS)

- Return of Experience (RoE) Management: Systematic capture and application of Return of Experience to improve project outcomes and engineering processes
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel within the region.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and global centers.
