Job Summary

The successful candidate will conduct research on X-linked myotubular myopathy (XLMTM) within the Muscle and Diseases team at Inserm U1258 (IGBMC). The project aims to identify and validate novel therapeutic strategies from molecular and cellular characterization to preclinical validation in disease models.

Main activities :

  • Characterize pathological pathways in XLMTM/CNM using molecular and omics approaches.
  • Perform functional studies in murine and human MTM1-deficient muscle cells.
  • Develop and evaluate RNA-targeting therapeutic approaches including ASO/anti-miR and AAV-based strategies.
  • Perform preclinical therapeutic studies and muscle phenotyping in a mouse model.

Associated activities :

  • Analyze and integrate molecular cellular histological and functional data.
  • Contribute to scientific publications reports and presentations and interact with IGBMC technological platforms


Specific Requirements or Constraints :

  • Experimental work with genetically modified mouse models in compliance with ethical and regulatory requirements.
  • Cell culture and use of specialized molecular biology imaging and muscle physiology facilities.

Skills/Qualifications :

  • PhD in molecular biology genetics biomedical sciences or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in molecular and cellular biology and RNA biology.
  • Experience with skeletal muscle and/or neuromuscular disease models.
  • Experience with mouse models and preclinical experimentation.
  • Expertise in RNA-targeting approaches molecular phenotyping and data analysis.
  • Strong scientific writing communication and organizational skills.
