Skills and Competencies
Experience in machine learning with a strong understanding of algorithms and their underlying principles
Strong understanding of methods and tools for explaining machine learning predictions
Hands-on experience with generative AI and natural language processing
Ability to use AI-assisted development tools to support coding testing and debugging while critically reviewing outputs
Proficiency in Python and SQL
Knowledge of Git version control and collaborative development practices
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to non-technical audiences
Previous experience in corporate finance or debt markets is preferred
Fluency in English

Education
Currently pursuing a masters degree in data science computer science statistics mathematics or a related quantitative field
Expected to graduate between July and December 2027
Availability to work for a 6 months internship starting in April 2027 (flexible)

Role and Responsibilities
Build solutions that extract relevant signals from structured and unstructured data and generate predictions
Design explainability tools that are understandable to non-data scientists
Collaborate with technology teams to create data ingestion pipelines that integrate information from multiple sources and formats
Communicate results to business stakeholders and decision-makers
Select and train machine learning models for predictive analytics
Collaborate with subject matter experts from ratings and research teams to incorporate fundamental expertise into machine learning and generative AI solutions
Stay current with developments in data science machine learning and generative AI

About the Team
Within the AI & Analytics team the Data Scientist will contribute to the development of machine learning and generative AI solutions for high-impact initiatives. The Data Scientist will focus on designing and training predictive analytics models extracting signals from unstructured data and creating high-value solutions that translate quantitative predictions into actionable insights for the business.

A successful candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of the key stages of machine learning and generative AI projects including model development evaluation and MLOps. The candidate should also be innovative results-oriented and autonomous with the ability to deliver project components under tight deadlines when required.

The data science team works closely with the technology rating and research teams as well as other departments. The candidate should therefore be able to collaborate across multiple teams and communicate clearly and effectively with business representatives unfamiliar with data science.
