Job Summary

The World Lead is responsible for organizing coordinating and executing World production. 

Reporting to the World Director he or she translates the vision methodologies and standards defined by the World Director into an efficient consistent and sustainable production organization. 

He or she supervises the Lead Level Designer Lead Level Artist and Lead Technical Level Designer ensuring that their objectives are aligned their collaboration is effective and the content produced by the World team is executed properly. 

He or she works in close partnership with the World Associate Producer to align priorities resources scheduling and production capacity. 

Beyond his/her own team he or she represents the Worlds interests to other project disciplines and directors and ensures smooth collaboration among all stakeholders involved. 

 

Responsibilities 

World Team management 

    Organize the work of the World team and set production priorities in line with project objectives.  

    Supervise mentor and help the Lead Level Designer Lead Level Artist and Lead Technical Level Designer grow.  

    Provide regular clear and constructive feedback to support their development and that of their teams.  

    Foster a team culture based on accountability trust collaboration and knowledge sharing.  

    Identify human organizational and operational risks that could impact production and implement the necessary actions to anticipate or resolve them.  

    Ensure that deadlines expected quality standards and defined production methods for the World are met. 

 

Collaboration within the World Team 

    Translate the vision methodologies and standards defined by the World Director into clear and actionable production objectives.  

    Build a day-to-day working relationship with the World Director to ensure constant alignment between vision production and quality.  

    Work closely with the World Associate Producer to ensure realistic planning appropriate resource allocation and effective production management.  

    Ensure close collaboration between the Lead Level Design Lead Level Art and Lead Technical Level Design to guarantee the overall consistency of the World.  

    Define together with the Leads production standards work methods and best practices common to the World team.  

    Ensure that decisions are understood shared and applied consistently by the entire team.  

    Promote the flow of information and coordination among the various disciplines within the World team. 

Collaboration with the rest of the project 

    Communicate World-related issues to Game Direction Art Direction Technical Direction Production and other project disciplines.  

    Collaborate with the Gameplay Programming Tech Art and QA teams as well as other relevant roles to ensure the consistent integration of World content.  

    Participate in making trade-offs between creative ambitions technical constraints production capacity and scheduling.  

    Anticipate dependencies between disciplines and coordinate their resolution with the relevant teams.  

    Foster clear constructive and effective communication between the World team and the rest of the project. 

 

World excellence 

    Ensure the overall consistency of content produced by the World team in terms of gameplay visual quality and production.  

    Maintain high standards in the application of methodologies standards and processes defined for the World.  

    Ensure consistency in practices across the various disciplines within the World team.  

    Identify opportunities to improve organization methods and workflows in order to sustainably increase production efficiency.  

    Encourage initiative accountability and continuous improvement at all levels of the team.  

    Develop a culture of feedback collaboration and learning that fosters individual and collective growth.  

    Ensure clear visibility into progress risks and priorities to facilitate decision-making. 


Qualifications :

Leadership 

    Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams in AAA production.  

    Ability to unite multiple teams around common goals.  

    Ability to make decisions mediate and prioritize effectively.  

    Excellent communication coordination and collaboration skills.  

    Ability to support the development of team leaders and help an organization grow. 

 

World expertise 

    Solid experience in producing large-scale game environments.  

    Good understanding of the disciplines that make up a World team including Level Design Technical Level Design and Level Art.  

    In-depth understanding of the interactions between gameplay art direction technical constraints and production.  

    Ability to simultaneously manage quality organization and production efficiency.  

    Particular attention to the coherence of spaces their clarity their continuity and the quality of the player experience.  

    Ability to maintain a high level of quality in a complex production environment. 

 

Collaboration 

    Ability to work daily with the Creative Technical and Production departments.  

    Understanding of gameplay performance pipeline and organizational constraints.  

    Ability to translate a vision into concrete measurable and shared production goals.  

    Ability to effectively coordinate teams with complementary expertise.  

    Strong knowledge of the disciplines involved in world-building (architecture geography geology urban planning landscape design or equivalent fields).
