Remote Data Scientist (SQL and Python)

Turing is looking for a remote Data Scientist on behalf of a US-based company that has established itself as the world's leading provider of shared electric vehicles to reduce carbon emissions. The selected candidate will be working on product analytics, payment fraud experience, etc. The company provides accessible micro-mobility to users with their shared e-vehicle solutions, thereby connecting countries & communities. They have managed to secure fundings worth more than $940 mn so far. This will be a full-time, long-term role requiring 6+ hours overlap with the PST time zone. Job Responsibilities:

- Develop a deep understanding of a particular business problem and propose solutions for improvements
- Perform statistical analysis to derive insights from the data and communicate findings
- Guide the decisions with experimentation and in-depth analysis
- Build models to optimize business decisions
- Integrate metrics and build data pipelines for accessible insights


Job Requirements:

- MS in Economics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or other quantitative fields - Ph.D. is a plus
- 5+ years of industry experience as a data scientist
- Proficient in SQL and solid expertise in Python
- Hands-on experience with data pipelines and visualization tools
- Profound, practical understanding of probability and statistics, including causal inference
- Sound knowledge of machine learning algorithms and practical experience with them is a plus
- Ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear and concise manner
- Great product intuition and capable of turning insights into meaningful ideas
- Strong communication skills with a steady record of collaborating across multiple teams
- Fluent in written and spoken English
