IBM WebSphere Application Server Administrator

Job Description

• Installation, implementation, upgrading, performance, security, patching and monitoring of WebSphere Application Server environments.
• Developing WebSphere Application Server Clustering for High Availability
• Deploying and testing applications.
• Candidate must have detailed understanding of J2EE standards, JDBC configuration, JNDI Directory Services, SOAP and WebServices
• Configuring and managing IBM HTTP Server from WebSphere Application Server
• Fulfilling requests for access and system logs.
• Monitoring, tracking, trending, analysis and tuning of the WebSphere environments
• Troubleshooting issues and providing L3 support for WebSphere Application Server
• Testing and implementing upgrades and patches.
• Securing WebSphere Application Server environments according to the latest best practices.
• Planning and performing QA audits.
• Configuring and testing production environments.
• Documenting servers’ architecture and installation, update, upgrade, patching steps.
• Developing and testing scripts to control WebSphere application servers.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or another related field. Or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to travel/relocate within Middle East region.
• Linux basic knowledge (Administration is a plus)
• Good communication skills. Fluent in English.
• From +3 to 10 years of experience in WebSphere Application Server administration (Certification is a plus).
• Security knowledge is a must.
• Good documentation and presentation skills.
• Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Self-organized, can manage a small team of less experienced teammates.
• Ability to do fast learning, receiving delivering handovers in timely fashion.
• Good planner, has the ability to plan for system enhancements, patching, upgrades.
• Fast adaptation to different working environments.
