Job Summary
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing sourcing strategies that enhance the competitive edge of the organization. This involves negotiating supplier agreements managing supplier relationships and ensuring the procurement process aligns with business goals. Moreover establish a budget that aligns with the companys financial goals while ensuring that project requirements and quality standards are met.
This position supports Egypt & Africa activities and therefore should understand these markets and the supply base within.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings and quality improvements.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers; conduct supplier audits and assessments.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure favorable terms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including procurement manufacturing and quality assurance.
- Monitor market trends and supplier performance to inform sourcing decisions.
- Maintain databases and documentation related to sourcing activities and supplier relationships.
Qualifications
You must have:
- A bachelors degree in supply chain management finance or a related field is often required. A masters degree or professional certification (e.g. CPSM CIPS) is preferred.
- Typically 4 years in strategic sourcing supply chain or procurement with a focus on direct materials/materials sourcing.
- Experience in supplier negotiation and contract management.
- Proven track record of achieving cost savings and improving procurement processes.

- Proficient in data analysis for assessing supplier performance market trends and cost structures.

- Ability to articulate procurement policies and procedures.
- Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Understanding of project management methodologies including scope time and cost management in relation to procurement activities.
- Knowledge of budgeting forecasting and financial management in procurement processes.
- Ability to analyze the financial impact of procurement decisions.
- Skills in identifying potential procurement risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Understanding of the North African market dynamics that affect supplier pricing and availability.
- Ability to conduct market research to inform purchasing strategies.
