The Senior Radiation Protection Engineer provides specialist technical expertise to support nuclear safety and radiation protection activities on a major international project where Worley acts as the Customers Technical Consultant. The role interfaces directly with the Customer contributing to technical reviews commissioning activities and operational readiness while also supporting capability development and knowledge transfer.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and support in radiation protection including documentation review commissioning and operational readiness.
  • Review design safety and technical documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements codes and standards.
  • Support commissioning through review of test programs procedures and system readiness.
  • Interface with the Customer contractors and stakeholders in technical discussions and meetings.
  • Coordinate with engineering disciplines and project teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Review as-built documentation and system changes for alignment with approved design basis.
  • Contribute to operational readiness assessments including processes procedures and organizational setup.
  • Prepare technical reports comments and correspondence related to radiation protection and safety.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree required (Masters degree preferred) in Radiology Nuclear Engineering or Nuclear Physics.
  • 8 years of experience in radiation protection engineering in the nuclear energy industry.
  • Thorough understanding of radioactivity measurement.
  • Experience with MERCURAD PANTHERE MicroShield or similar dose rate software is recommended.

Special Job Requirements

  • Ability to analyze communicate influence and persuade.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Russian and/or Arabic is a plus.

  • Proactive team player effective in a multi-cultural environment.

  • Organized and disciplined.
