Senior Purchasing Officer

Job Purpose:

To oversee and manage the collection handling and sale of the Group scrap and waste materials including metals plastics cardboard and wood. The role aims to maximize financial returns through effective coordination negotiation with approved buyers and proper control of the collection storage and disposal processes while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental requirements.

𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬:
-Identify and track the types and quantities of waste generated across the Group operations on a regular basis.
-Coordinate with relevant departments (Production Maintenance Warehouses Security) to organize the collection and transportation process.
-Communicate and negotiate with the approved scrap suppliers and vendors to secure the best possible prices.
-Monitor scrap sales follow up on payments and ensure proper documentation of all sales transactions.
-Prepare periodic reports on quantities sold and revenue generated.
-Ensure compliance with safety and environmental requirements during the transportation storage and loading of scrap materials.
-Monitor the performance of the team responsible for waste collection sorting and loading.
-Monitor market trends and prices for raw materials and scrap materials to support effective pricing and negotiations.
-Propose and implement initiatives to improve the efficiency of scrap and waste management and reduce losses.

𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬:
-Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
-35 years of experience in Purchasing Procurement or a similar role.
-Previous experience in scrap purchasing trading recycling or related industries is highly preferred.
-Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
-Good understanding of purchasing processes and commercial practices.
-Good command of Microsoft Office particularly Excel.
-Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
