Job Summary
It requires a strong understanding of key business drivers and the ability to leverage this knowledge to effectively execute individual responsibilities. Additionally the role demands a solid understanding of how the teams work integrates with other functions and contributes to broader organizational objectives.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead monthly and quarterly closing processes including account reconciliations journal entries reporting analytical review and related controls.
- Design and implement internal controls over financial reporting ensuring SOX compliance adherence to accounting policies and driving process simplification initiatives.
- Monitor financial risks and perform detailed balance sheet analysis; collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and timely resolution of audit findings.
- Ensure accurate timely and compliant financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP GEHC policies and local statutory requirements.
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for key financial processes to drive consistency efficiency and control effectiveness.
- Support business and operational teams in understanding financial impacts.
- Participate and drive key controllership initiatives including process simplification ERP/system implementations and integration projects ensuring alignment with controllership standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree with experience in accounting and finance.
- Familiarity with US GAAP/IFRS and Egyptian tax legislation.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and controllership practices.
- Experience working in a global business environment with a strong understanding of end-to-end processes and transactional flows.
- Proven ability to operate in a matrix organization.
- Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial matters clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Proactive mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Calm structured and analytical approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while driving individual deliverables and projects.
