The Role

As the Manager of Solutions Engineering for Africa you will lead a team of Solutions Engineers who partner closely with our Salesorganisationto help customers solve complex application delivery and security challenges.

You willbe responsible forsetting the direction for the team developing your people and ensuring the Solutions Engineeringorganisationis aligned to support F5s business goals across the region. Success in this role comes from building a strong engaged team working closely with Sales and cross-functional partners and helping customersrealisethe value ofF5ssolutions.

WhatYoullDo

Lead and develop the team

  • Uphold F5s Business Code of Ethics and promptly report any violations of the Code or company policies.

  • Leadcoachand develop the Africa Solutions Engineering team through regular feedbackmentoringand career development.

  • Manage day-to-day team activities including performance reviews development plans time-offapprovalsand workload planning.

  • Recruit interview and onboard new Solutions Engineers in partnership with Human Resources.

  • Set clearobjectivesand priorities for the team and ensure theyremainaligned with regional and company goals.

  • Work with leadership on quarterly and annual headcount planning to ensure the team can support the needs of the business.

Buildan effective Solutions Engineeringorganisation

  • Create a collaborative environment where knowledge sharingteamworkand continuous learning are encouraged.

  • Support both the technical and professional development of your team.

  • Build strong working relationships with Sales Professional Services Customer SupportMarketingand Product Management.

  • Help shape career development skills planningrecognitionand retention across the Solutions Engineeringorganisation.

  • Ensure the team has the right skillsresourcesand structure to support current and future business needs.

Partnerwith customers and the business

  • Support your team on strategic customer opportunities and executive engagements when needed.

  • Ensure the Solutions Engineering team deliversan excellentcustomer experience throughout the sales cycle.

  • Work closely with Sales to understand customer challenges and position F5 solutions that address their business and technical requirements.

  • Present F5s strategy solutionportfolioand product roadmap to customerspartnersand internal stakeholders.

  • Partner with Customer Support and Professional Services to help resolve complex customer issues and ensure successful outcomes.

Contributeto business strategy

  • Identifymarket trends customerrequirementsand competitive activity sharing insights with Sales and Product Management.

  • Provide technical and commercial guidance to support strategic sales opportunities.

  • Help shape the future direction of the Solutions Engineeringorganisationas the business continues to grow.

What Youll Need

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Experience leading and developing technical pre-sales or Solutions Engineering teams.

  • Strong understanding of networking technologies applicationdeliveryand cybersecurity.

  • A proven ability to coachmotivateand develop technical professionals.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a range of audiences.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively across Sales Product Management Professional Services and Customer Support.

  • Commercial awareness and the ability to balance customer needs with business priorities.

  • Self-motivatedcollaborativeand comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
