HSE Officer
Job Summary
A Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines. They advise on safety measures conduct risk assessments and enforce preventative measures. Their role involves promoting a safe workplace providing training and investigating incidents to improve overall safety.
- Support the applying of H&S policies and programs.
- Advise and instruct on various safetyrelated topics (noise levels use of machinery etc.
- Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures
- Initiate and organize H&S training of employees and executives
- Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or nonconformity (e.g. not using protective equipment)
- Oversee installations maintenance disposal of substances etc.
- Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy
- Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle workers compensation claims
- Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper management
- conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Working knowledge of safety management information systems
- BSc engineering or relevant field is preferred
- Bachelors degree
- At lease 2 years Proven experience as safety officer
- In depth knowledge of legislation and procedures
- Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safety
- Certificate in occupational health and safety
