HSE Engineer
Job Summary
Location: Egypt and surrounding regional project sites
About the Role: We are seeking an experienced HSE Engineer to lead health, safety, and environmental management on our chemical and construction EPC projects across Egypt and the Middle East. Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, implement, and continuously improve the project HSE management system; ensure compliance with contract requirements and local regulations
- Develop project safety policies, emergency response plans, and HSE training programs; organize and conduct safety training
- Conduct daily safety inspections and specialized safety audits; identify site hazards and ensure corrective actions are closed
- Lead hazard identification and risk assessment; participate in safety review of construction method statements
- Organize project safety meetings; prepare monthly safety reports and statistical analysis
- Coordinate HSE matters with clients, PMC consultants, and local safety regulatory authorities
- Supervise subcontractor HSE management to ensure effective system implementation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of on-site HSE management experience in chemical or construction engineering
- EPC project safety management experience is preferred
- Internationally recognized safety certifications (NEBOSH, OSHA, etc.) are preferred
- Familiarity with international HSE management systems (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001); knowledge of Egyptian/Jordanian local safety laws and regulations is preferred
- Strong capabilities in emergency management, risk assessment, and incident investigation
- Experience with Chinese-funded enterprises or international engineering company overseas projects is a plus
- Fluent in Arabic and English; Chinese language ability is a bonus
