Design Lead Landscape & Public Realm

Position Overview

The role ensures that the master plan vision is maintained properly translated into detailed design packages and consistently implemented across all Development Packages while ensuring integration with infrastructure and built environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Master Plan Governance

• Manage and oversee the development and updates of the project master plan.
  
• Ensure all design packages comply with the approved master plan vision land use and design guidelines.
  
• Control design deviations and ensure alignment with planning parameters.
  

2. Landscape Design Management

• Lead all landscape design activities from concept through IFC.
  
• Oversee public realm open spaces streetscapes waterfronts (if applicable) and soft/hard landscape elements.
  
• Ensure high-quality functional and sustainable landscape solutions.
  

3. Integration with Development Packages

• Ensure all Development Packages are aligned with master plan requirements.
  
• Coordinate with all Design Managers to maintain consistency in levels circulation access and spatial planning.
  
• Manage transitions between landscape and building interfaces.
  

4. Infrastructure & Urban Coordination

• Coordinate with infrastructure teams to ensure alignment of roads utilities drainage and grading with landscape design.
  
• Ensure proper integration of landscape with site levels and stormwater strategies.
  

5. Design Guidelines & Compliance

• Develop and enforce master plan and landscape design guidelines.
  
• Review all DP submissions for compliance with planning and landscape requirements.
  
• Ensure adherence to authority regulations and planning approvals.
  

6. Consultant Management

• Manage master planners and landscape design consultants.
  
• Review and consolidate all submissions prior to PMC approval.
  
• Ensure consistency across all landscape and planning outputs.
  

7. Quality & Design Vision Protection

• Maintain the overall design vision and identity of the development.
  
• Ensure continuity of spatial experience across the project.
  
• Minimize fragmentation between different packages.
  

8. Sustainability & Environmental Integration

• Integrate sustainable landscape practices (water efficiency native planting shading strategies).
  
• Ensure alignment with environmental and sustainability goals.
  
• Coordinate with sustainability teams where applicable.
  

9. Schedule Cost & Value Engineering

• Monitor design progress and ensure alignment with project schedule.
  
• Support cost optimization while maintaining landscape quality and intent.
  
• Participate in value engineering related to landscape and public realm.
  

10. Risk & Change Management

• Identify planning and landscape-related risks.
  
• Manage design changes affecting master plan or landscape scope.
  
• Maintain logs for deviations changes and planning adjustments.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Architecture Urban Planning or Landscape Architecture (Masters preferred).
  
• 1015 years of experience in master planning and landscape design.
  
• Minimum 5 years in a design management or senior planning/landscape role.
  
• Strong experience in large-scale developments (urban mixed-use coastal or master-planned communities).
  
• Experience working within PMC consultancy or developer environment.
  
• Strong understanding of land use planning zoning and urban design principles.
  
• Experience in landscape design public realm and open space planning.
  
• Familiarity with authority planning requirements and approvals.
  
• Proficiency in relevant design tools (AutoCAD GIS BIM tools is a plus).
