Job Summary

Job Summary:

The Commercial Accounting Section Head is responsible for leading and overseeing the Commercial Accounting function ensuring the accurate and timely execution of merchant commissions settlements revenues reconciliations and financial controls. The role drives revenue assurance risk mitigation process improvement and reporting while partnering with key business stakeholders to ensure financial accuracy and operational efficiency. The Section Head is also responsible for leading and developing the team strengthening financial controls and ensuring the achievement of functional objectives and continuous improvement.


Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the Commercial Accounting function and its day-to-day operations.
Perform Merchant Commission Validation to ensure the accuracy of commissions incentives and commercial payouts.
Oversee Mobile Network Operator (MNO) settlements and ensure timely and accurate settlement calculations with telecom operators and business partners.
Drive Revenue Leakage Prevention initiatives by identifying financial risks process gaps and potential revenue loss.
Conduct Scheme & Contract Validation to ensure commercial implementations are aligned with approved contracts business agreements and commercial terms.
Monitor Merchant Funding & Settlement Controls to ensure accurate funding calculations and settlement execution.
Validate revenues costs commissions and commercial transactions across products channels and partners.
Lead coach and develop team members while fostering a culture of accountability ownership and operational excellence.
Review and monitor Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) activities related to commercial operations to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
Support month-end closing activities through revenue cost settlement AP AR and accrual validations.
Develop and maintain robust financial controls to ensure the completeness accuracy and integrity of financial records.
Partner with Commercial Operations Product and Business teams to resolve financial discrepancies and operational issues.
Prepare management reports reconciliation analyses and financial dashboards to support business decision making.
Enhance reporting automation strengthen financial controls and drive continuous process improvement.
Monitor team performance against functional KPIs and ensure the achievement of departmental objectives.
Support internal and external audit activities and ensure timely resolution of audit findings related to Commercial Accounting.

Requirements
Job Specifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or a related field.
610 years of relevant experience in Commercial Accounting Revenue Assurance Settlements Reconciliations Financial Control Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable.
Strong understanding of Merchant Commissions Mobile Network Operator (MNO) Settlements Revenue Assurance AP/AR processes and Financial Controls.
Strong understanding of financial controls accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
Experience in Fintech Digital Payments Banking Telecom or Financial Services is highly preferred.
Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage coach and develop high-performing teams.


Required Skills:

Bachelors degree in BA BIS or equivalents 0-2 Years of Experience Computer & MO Literacy. Ability to collaborate effectively across various departments. Solid background to Company products & services. Creating test cases documents. Perform thorough investigation (Tech & business) to discover issues down to root cause. Good knowledge of transaction processing within payment networks
