As a Senior Principal Software Engineer / Lead Developer in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure you will provide senior technical leadership for cloud services supporting the media and entertainment industry. The team builds cloud-native platforms that enable customers to run complex media production processing collaboration streaming and delivery workflows at scale.

You will help define architecture guide implementation and support the operation of highly available distributed systems. This role requires strong hands-on engineering depth cloud expertise and the ability to influence technical direction across multiple scrum teams in a large-scale OCI engineering environment.

Were building next-generation distributed systems in the cloud. To succeed in this role youll need prior cloud experience (OCI AWS Azure or GCP) and the ability to apply it to complex large-scale environments.

• Own the engineering architecture and delivery of an assigned part of the software solution.

• Work collaboratively with other developers architects managers and different Oracle teams to deliver anticipated features and drive the launching of new cloud services.

• Proactively identify and resolve risks and issues that may dent the teams ability to execute.

• Drive engineering efforts and provide direction to other members of the team. Provide coaching and mentoring support to the organization.

• Develop long-term technical OKRs and KPIs to inform decision-making and prioritization. Establish software development standards and processes.

• Setting up development pipelines and deploying applications into development test and production environments. You will develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and work with Kubernetes for container orchestration and scaling of distributed applications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least 10 years of software engineering work experience.
• Bachelors/Masters degree in computer science or related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge of data structures algorithms operating systems distributed systems and other computer science fundamentals.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming in one or more of Java C# Golang C or similar OO languages.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills of the used solution stack.
• Solid understanding of developing customer-facing microservice-based architectures tiered architectures including virtualization containerization and REST API interfaces.

• Hands-on experience in building highly available high-traffic distributed services possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols. Familiarity with concepts such as availability observability scalability testability recoverability etc.

Nice-to-have Qualifications:

• Previous experience in utilizing public cloud services from the current major providers (such as Oracle Azure AWS Google Cloud etc.) in developing complex software products.

• Domain knowledge and experience with workflows and pipelines for media production digital asset management and namespaces familiarity with 3d frameworks universal scene description scene graphs layers and models 3d data packaging rendering workflows image composition tools used in the workflow by artists engineers editors and content creators is a plus.
