Job Description
The product engineers role is to provide expertise to control electrical seating components (i.e. wire harness / heating mat / SBR / terminals and connectors) to comply with Lear and OEM customer specifications. Through regular communication with customers and suppliers the engineer ensures the electrical products are tested and integrated into the complete seat in time to milestones.
Responsibilities
Seat Wiring Harness Development:
Development of seat wiring harnesses from prototype to serial production
Alignment with customer requirements and integration into seat systems
Ensuring compliance with technical and legislative requirements
Prototype & Test Equipment Development:
Development and assembly of prototype electrical systems (schematics PCB basic SW)
Building and wiring prototype test equipment (hands-on work)
Supporting prototype testing and validation in Plzeň
Additional responsibilities:
Management of assigned projects from customer request to SOP
Creation and tracking of project plans timelines and deliverables
Preparation and maintenance of technical documentation
Analysis of issues root cause identification and support of corrective actions
Close cooperation with engineering manufacturing and quality teams
Communication with internal customers within Lear
Experience Requirements
Must Have
Practical experience with electrical systems (automotive or similar)
Hands-on experience in at least one of the following; Wiring/harness assemblySoldering/building electronic componentsReading electrical schematics
Knowledge of vehicle communication systems (CAN/LIN)
Understanding of automotive electrical architecture / SW updates (basic level)
Not purely software focused interest in hardware and hands-on work is essential
English language
Willingness to travel (CZ & Germany)
Proactive hands-on working style
Nice to have
Experience in automotive development
Basic programming knowledge
PCB experience
German language
