Following its establishment in 2012 Plzeň has grown into our fastest-growing Engineering Development Center in Europe. The center focuses on the design and development of Lear products including complex seating mechanisms and structures foams coatings plastics and trim components. The vision for Plzen is not to work as an internal supplier for our European business units but to develop into a leading Design and Development Center working on projects for all major European OEM customer groups from concept phase through to delivery.

You drive commercial performance for your assigned commodities and programs by selecting the most cost-effective suppliers and delivering measurable savings. Your impact is judged primarily by achieving the Annual Cost Reduction Targets through negotiation benchmarking and competitive sourcing.

Responsibilities

  • Create 3D CAD models and component designs for plastic metal and foam parts using customer and project requirements.
  • Prepare 2D component assembly layout package and homologation drawings for project and production use.
  • Perform DMU checks packaging studies and concept design activities to support ESI RFQ and development phases.
  • Manage CAD data documentation and design changes in the PLM system in line with internal processes.
  • Ensure legal comfort feasibility and customer specification checks are completed for assigned seat components and assemblies.

Skills

CAD Standards

Education Requirements

  • English and/or German language skills written and spoken.
  • CAD design background with CATIA V5 or Siemens NX.
  • Technical understanding of mechanical design automotive components or manufacturing processes.
  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a design engineering or manufacturing environment ideally within the automotive industry.
