DESCRIPTION:
Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Software Test Engineer II and contribute to ensuring the quality and reliability of our advanced software solutions. Youll work on sophisticated applications that control our analytical instruments including mass spectrometers electron microscopes and other advanced scientific equipment. As part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team youll work with developers scientists and stakeholders to validate software that enables groundbreaking research and innovation. Your work will directly impact scientific discoveries in fields like cancer research drug development and semiconductor manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform functional and regression testing of the Tomography software application running on electron microscopes.

  • Test software workflows data acquisition processes and the integration of the Tomography application with the core microscope control systems.

  • Use a bug tracking system to report document and track found software bugs and failures.

  • Use a test management system to plan execute and record test cases and results.

  • Collaborate with the software development team to plan and validate new features for the Tomography product.

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to identify reproduce and accurately describe software and system defects.

  • Academic degree in Engineering Science Computer Science or a related field.

  • Active knowledge of English.

  • Basic knowledge of Windows administration.

Desired (not required) skills:

  • Knowledge of testing tools and procedures (TestLink TestRail JIRA etc.).

  • Knowledge of test automation (Python C#).

  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle.

  • Experience with VMware or similar virtualization tools.
