Our client an established Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF) regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) and based in Limassol is looking for a Compliance/AML Officer to join their team. This is a role that offers the successful candidate the opportunity to be the registered CO/AMLCO with CySEC and to play a central part in safeguarding the firms regulatory standing within the CFD/FX industry.
The Role (Duties and Responsibilities):
Be appointed as the registered Compliance Officer and Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer (CO/AMLCO) with the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC)
Act as the primary point of contact with CySEC and the Unit for Combating Money Laundering (MOKAS/FIU Cyprus)
Ensure that all periodic reports and any ad hoc regulatory reports are accurately and timely submitted to CySEC and other competent authorities
Prepare and submit compliance reports to the Board of Directors and regulatory bodies
Analyse new legislation market developments and developments in the local and EU regulatory framework and propose relevant implementation plans
Identify examine and report suspicious activities related to money laundering and terrorist financing to MOKAS in accordance with applicable law
Assist in the compliance risk assessment process ensuring that all compliance risks including those specific to leveraged CFD/FX trading are appropriately identified assessed reported and monitored
Coordinate internal compliance reviews and monitoring activities including periodic reviews of departments and independently investigating and acting on any matters related to compliance
Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues complaints or incidents in a timely and effective manner
Provide advice guidance and assistance on compliance-related matters as well as training to the members of other departments as necessary from time to time
Assist in conducting internal audits and regulatory inspections
Perform KYC/KYB reviews and risk assessments on potential and existing clients
Respond to compliance inquiries from various departments
Your Profile (Experience/Qualifications):
CySEC Advanced certification
2-4 years of experience as a Compliance/AML Officer within a CySEC-regulated entity
Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the CFD/FX industry including margin trading leverage requirements and ESMA/CySEC product intervention measures
Strong understanding of the CySEC regulatory framework
Previous experience with transaction monitoring and screening systems (e.g. Sumsub Refinitiv LexisNexis or similar)
Working knowledge of other EU/EEA jurisdictions
Familiarity with MiCA (Regulation (EU) 2023/1114) and crypto-asset regulatory frameworks will be considered an advantage
English language proficiency Greek a plus
