Description

SCOR has created a new Facultative Reinsurance team to further our success in this market. Whilst Facultative underwriting is not new to us our focused approach will help secure our position as a market leader. Creating this book of business in collaboration with the wider Insurance and Reinsurance teams is where this role begins.

Within this role youare responsible forSCORs Facultative Reinsurance offering across INSERT REGION& LOB developing relationships with clients and our underwriters.

AsaSeniorUnderwriteryou willsupportthe strategic engagement for our business development including business origination and maintenance of the SCORCedent Facultativeoffering to clients andbrokers in the region.

Youplay a key role in theachievement of the Plan and for the profitability of theCedent Facultativetransactions inyour regional line of businessbeing part of the successof the underwriting team within the region. Your plan contributionsform part of theregional andglobalCedent Facultativeambition and is achieved through sound technical and profitable underwriting.

These goals are achieved through your skill at developing SCORs market share and leadership position across Cedent Facultative Reinsurance through enhancing the Group image in the market by efficient and innovative support of client needs being the partnerour clients not only need but ask for.



Responsibilities

No two days are the same but that is how we become the experts that our clients expect to work with. Producing and managing your portfolios of accounts through the strong market relationships you haveis at the core of your role at SCOR. The guidelines we develop are built to supporttheunderwriting business planfor your line of business but you have the chance to do much more than that by actively contributing to portfolio growth and diversification supporting the overallorganizationstrategy.

There is always a lot to do but everything is linked to the overall results ofSCOR developing our market share and enhancing our market image.

When you receive select and evaluate offers of business from various sources your role is todetermine the quality of the proposalanalyzethe exposure identify the optimal facultative arrangementand ultimately negotiate the best terms for SCOR whilst satisfying the needs of the we also want you tosupport the development ofour submission pipeline and promote SCOR bypro-activemarketing in line with the strategy and guidelines defined by us.

Business and Market relationships are keyto yours andoursuccess. Bymaintainingand developing these relationships with clients and brokers and attending broker and client hosted events you get the chance to be part of our growth.

Business Development & Marketing

  • Prepare client action plans executive summaries and marketing materials.

Some of the expectations of your role are:

  • Be part of the team deliveringprofitable growth and diversify the portfolioin accordance withstrategy andin accordance withtheFacultativeGuidelines and practices
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients brokers and key stakeholders.
  • Receive select and evaluate offers of business from various sources calculate pricing&negotiate conditions of the contracts.

  • Perform technical analysis of facultative risks focused on portfolio solutions assessing exposure terms and optimal structures.

  • Underwrite price and negotiate terms and conditions to ensure profitability and competitiveness.

  • Take time toidentify research develop and report on new areas of profitable growth
  • Be comfortable in marketingandcrosssellingthecapabilitiesof other units across the Group be it TreatiesAS Specialty Lines or SBStoManagersBrokersand Ceding Companies
  • Developmarketing materials and intelligence documentation based on research and analysis of both the portfolio results and the market data
  • Provide technicalexpertise best practices and mentoring to underwriters in the region thatassistin sourcing new business opportunities
  • Collaborate with peersinother regions to share market intelligence best practices but most importantly ensuring that our underwritingmethodologyis consistent throughout the World.
  • Assistother business lines in local market interactions to support cross-LOB growth
  • Collaborate withthe Claims Functionin negotiating/resolving the claims arising from your portfolio.
  • Participate in client visits market events and marketing initiatives.
  • Promote cross-selling opportunities across the Groups lines of business.
  • Ensure data quality and reporting to all our IT systems


Qualifications

Required experience& competencies

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Property (re)insurance underwriting facultative focused in portfolio solutions and/or treaty.

  • Strong technical expertise in insurance and reinsurance principles

  • Proven experience in business development negotiation and relationship management.

  • Advanced analytical skills for risk assessment and profitability analysis.

  • University degree and/or relevant professional qualifications
