Thermal Engineer(eDrive System) EM
Job Summary
- Responsible for thermal and fluid simulation development of 3-in-1 / multi-in-one electric drive systems (motor inverter reducer) for new energy vehicles including steady-state and transient heat transfer fluid flow heat dissipation and lubrication analysis at both system and component levels.
- Carry out motor thermal simulation for water cooling oil cooling end spray cooling and hollow shaft cooling solutions. Verify winding and magnet temperature evaluate permanent magnet demagnetization risk and complete electromagnetic-thermal coupling simulation.
- Conduct thermal simulation for electric control power devices (IGBT/SiC) PCB and capacitors. Calculate junction temperature and thermal resistance verify heat dissipation reliability under high-temperature and peak-load conditions and support thermal design development of 800V high-voltage platforms.
- Perform lubrication and cooling simulation for reducers analyze gear churning bearing oil supply two-phase flow splashing pressure drop and flow distribution. Optimize lubrication and cooling structures to solve overheating and insufficient lubrication problems.
- Build 1D/3D thermal simulation models for electric drive systems conduct 1D-3D co-simulation match vehicle cooling loops and complete thermal balance verification under CLTC WLTC continuous climbing and peak overload conditions.
- Participate in bench temperature rise tests vehicle thermal balance tests and thermal shock tests. Calibrate simulation boundary conditions and model parameters based on test data to continuously improve simulation accuracy.
- Propose optimization solutions for structure flow channel oil and water circuit layout based on simulation results. Cooperate with structural electromagnetic electronic control and test teams to complete scheme review and implementation and solve thermal management problems in R&D and mass production stages.
- Establish and improve the simulation system formulate thermal simulation modeling specifications boundary condition standards and evaluation criteria. Improve development efficiency through DOE multi-objective optimization and simulation automation and deliver complete simulation reports.
- Track advanced thermal management technologies in the industry and conduct simulation pre-research and scheme verification for innovative technologies.
Qualifications :
- Education: Bachelors degree or above masters degree preferred major in Engineering Thermophysics Energy and Power Engineering Vehicle Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Fluid Mechanics or related fields.
- Fluent in English speaking reading and writing capable of understanding English technical documents and delivering English simulation reports (mandatory for foreign-funded enterprises).
- Experience: At least 8 years of mass production R&D experience in thermal simulation of new energy vehicle electric drive systems familiar with 3-in-1 / multi-in-one electric drive development process. Experience in 800V high-voltage platform oil-cooled motor and SiC inverter simulation is preferred.
- Professional Knowledge: Solid theoretical foundation in heat transfer fluid mechanics conjugate heat transfer two-phase flow and thermal resistance network; familiar with motor loss mechanism power device thermal characteristics and reducer lubrication & cooling principles.
- Software Skills: Proficient in 3D CFD simulation software (STAR-CCM / ANSYS Fluent); skilled in MotorCAD for motor thermal simulation; experience with Amesim / GT-Suite 1D thermal system simulation is preferred.
- Practical Capability: Able to independently complete electric drive system modeling meshing boundary condition setting simulation calculation result analysis and report delivery; capable of simulation-test correlation and model iterative optimization.
- Advanced Skills: Familiar with Python / MATLAB for simulation data post-processing and automation script development; experience with DOE multi-objective optimization is a plus.
- Comprehensive Quality: Familiar with automotive APQP development process with excellent problem-solving ability and cross-departmental communication skills. Rigorous working attitude with practical mass production project experience.
