Position Summary

This role combines strategic business development and technical application expertise to advance Thermo Fisher Scientifics cell culture media and bioproduction services in China. The successful candidate will develop partnerships lead technical collaborations and drive growth through customized solutions and customer engagement across the biotechnology and biopharmaceutical landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic and technical partner to customers working closely with Account Managers (BAMs) Technical Sales Specialists (TSS) and internal cross-functional teams to expand Thermo Fishers cell culture media and services footprint in China.
  • Develop and manage strategic partnerships with biotech biopharma CRO and CDMO customers identifying opportunities for collaboration on custom media process development and optimization projects.
  • Act as the technical liaison between customers and Thermo Fisher internal teams to support media selection development troubleshooting and scale-up activities.
  • Collaborate with clone development firms and manufacturing partners to promote Gibco media cell lines and process innovation.
  • Lead joint development initiatives and in-licensing coordinating with R&D and Bioprocessing Design Centers (BDCs) to deliver customized solutions.
  • Provide hands-on technical consulting data analysis and application support to optimize customer processes and ensure successful implementation of Thermo Fisher products and technologies.
  • Capture and communicate the Voice of Customer (VoC) to R&D and Product Management influencing innovation and portfolio strategy.
  • Build and manage Media Development pipeline to align technical opportunities with commercial objectives.
  • Lead contract development and negotiations including proposals Statements of Work (SOWs) and Master Service Agreements (MSAs) ensuring both scientific and business objectives are met.
  • Drive project execution from early engagement through commercial success converting technical wins into sustainable long-term partnerships.
  • Deliver technical presentations workshops and training sessions to customers and internal teams to strengthen understanding of media technologies and applications.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Life Sciences (Biology Biotechnology Biochemistry Immunology or related field) required.
  • Advanced degree/PhD/MBA preferred.

Experience

  • 7 years of experience in business development technical sales or field application roles within Biotech Biopharma or Life Sciences industries.
  • Proven success in process development media optimization and strategic partnership management.
  • Proven experience in negotiations project management and strategic account development.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical expertise into commercial outcomes.

Skills and Abilities

  • Deep understanding of bioproduction workflows including cell culture media upstream/downstream processing and analytical techniques.
  • Strong business acumen combined with scientific credibility.
  • Excellent communication relationship management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% across China.
