PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

Responsible for completing assigned projects within budget and programme plan to the required specification and quality standards as required by the owner and operator.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning and Strategy

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans including timelines budgets and resource allocation.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
  • Define project scope goals and deliverables with senior management and stakeholders.

Project Management

  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle from planning to handover.
  • Monitor progress address issues and manage budgets.
  • Coordinate with architects engineers contractors and other professionals to meet project specifications.
  • Develop and manage the critical path for the project ensuring proactive consequence management.
  • Develop the project organization structure and manage Project Managers.
  • Appoint and manage site architects interior designers contractors and consultants with approval from owners and HQ/RO management.
  • Manage tender evaluation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with government codes and laws especially site safety.
  • Actively manage the performance of consultants main contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Ensure full compliance with designs and specifications collaborating with HQ Design team.
  • Advise on material deviations and contract variations approving minor ones in consultation with Group P&D Head.
  • Report irregularities to HQ & RO on a timely basis and recommend remedial actions.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Manage expectations and address concerns proactively and promptly.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and motivate project teams providing guidance and support.
  • Coach project managers and site teams fostering an engaging workplace.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review progress and plan actions.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with regulations codes and standards adhere to Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts Project Management Standards.
  • Implement Groups standards and guidelines.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor quality and progress.
  • Coordinate with technical and engineering functions.
  • Ensure all M&E services are tested and commissioned.
  • Coordinate closely with the operator for handover and opening.
  • Ensure all defect rectifications are completed.

Risk Management

  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor risks and take corrective action as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations on-site.

Project Administration

  • Actively manage cash flow and ensure pricing integrity.
  • Develop and implement cost management and control processes.
  • Manage submissions to authorities and obtain necessary approvals and licenses.
  • Outline and implement reporting and approval systems.
  • Prepare and present project reports to senior management and stakeholders regularly.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
