Job Title: Senior R&D Leader China

The job
We are seeking a visionary and execution-focused software R&D Leader to establish and lead a new software development initiative in China for industrial software. This role is critical to expanding our global innovation footprint and will be responsible for building a high-performing local team aligning with global product strategies and delivering impactful software solutions tailored for China customers.
Key responsibilities
Team Formation & Leadership:Recruitonboard and develop a new R&D team in China. Foster a culture of innovation agility and technical excellence.
Site Setup & Operations:Lead the operational setup of the China R&D center including infrastructure tools and local compliance in collaboration with HR IT and Legal.
Strategic Alignment:Translate globaland localproduct and technology strategies into local execution plans. Ensure alignment with global architecture and delivery standards.
Product Development:Drive the development of software components and featuresfor the China marketfollowing AVEVAsglobal R&D processedwith a focus on quality scalability and performance.
Cross-Regional Collaboration:Act as a bridge between China-based teams and global stakeholders. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across time zones and cultures.
Talent Development:Mentor andgrowlocal engineering leaders. Establish career development paths and succession planning for long-term sustainability.
Governance & Reporting:Define KPIs manage budgets and report progress to global and regional leadership.
Essential requirements
10 years of experience in software R&D with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Proven experience in building and scaling engineering teams ideally in a multinational or matrixed environment.
Experience in developing or delivering industrial softwarefor customers in China.
Strong understanding of modern software development practicesincluding Agilehybrid/cloud architectures
Fluent inMandarinandEnglish.
Bachelors orMasters degree in Computer Science Engineering ora relatedfield.
Desired skills and competencies
Experience launching or scaling R&D operations in China.
Familiarity with industrial software edge computing or AI/ML applications.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability toinfluence acrosscultures and functions.
