Job Summary

This Senior Tax Manager Greater China is responsible forhandling the Companys tax compliance reporting and risk management activities across Mainland China Hong Kong Macau and Taiwan. Reporting to the Senior Director Tax Greater China. This role serves as the primary tax advisor on regional tax matters including corporate income tax indirect tax withholding tax transfer pricing and cross-border transactions.

The position is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations overseeing tax reporting and filing obligations managing tax audits and controversy matters and supporting business initiatives through practical and strategic tax advice. The Senior Tax Manager will work closely with the Greater China Tax team Corporate Tax Finance and business stakeholders to identify and mitigate tax risks support tax planning opportunities and drive operational excellence.

The role also plays a key part in strengthening tax governance improving processes and controls and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of tax and financial information. Operating with a high degree of independence the Senior Tax Manager will serve as a trusted business partner and a key liaison with tax authorities external advisors and internal stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tax Compliance & Reporting
  • Oversee all direct and indirect tax compliance activities across the Greater China region including corporate income tax withholding tax information returns and tax payments.
  • Partner with Finance Accounting Shared Services and external advisors to ensure timely accurate and compliant tax filings.
  • Manage tax reporting requirements for Corporate Headquarters and regional leadership including tax provisions deferred tax analyses tax account reconciliations tax balance sheet reporting withholding tax compliance and other required disclosures.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of tax-related financial information while driving continuous improvements in tax reporting processes controls and governance.
  • Indirect Tax
  • Oversee indirect tax compliance across the Greater China region including VAT and other applicable transaction taxes.
  • Provide technical guidance to Finance and Accounting teams on indirect tax matters including transaction structuring invoicing requirements taxability assessments and regulatory developments.


  • Transfer Pricing
  • Partner with the Global Transfer Pricing team to ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations and documentation requirements across the Greater China region.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of transfer pricing documentation including Local Files Master Files and Country-by-Country reporting requirements.
  • Support transfer pricing planning initiatives intercompany pricing policies and transfer pricing audits or inquiries.
  • Tax Audits & Controversy Management
  • Lead tax audits tax authority inquiries inspections and other tax controversy matters across the Greater China region.
  • Coordinate audit responses manage communications with tax authorities and external advisors and ensure timely resolution of tax issues.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks arising from audits regulatory developments and changes in tax legislation.
  • Stakeholder Management & Business Partnership
  • Partner with Greater China Tax Corporate Tax Finance Legal Treasury and business leaders to support tax planning initiatives business projects restructurings and strategic transactions.
  • Provide practical and commercially focused tax advice on domestic and cross-border tax matters to support business objectives and manage risk.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with tax authorities external advisors auditors and internal stakeholders to support effective tax governance and compliance.
  • Process Improvement & Digital Transformation
  • Drive continuous improvement standardization and automation of tax compliance reporting and governance processes.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance efficiency scalability and control through process optimization and technology-enabled solutions.
  • Support tax technology initiatives data analytics and automation projects to improve reporting accuracy strengthen controls and reduce compliance risk.


Candidates Profiles

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate taxation and/or public accounting preferably with a Big Four firm and/or multinational corporation.
  • Strong knowledge of China tax regulations including corporate income tax indirect tax withholding tax transfer pricing and cross-border taxation.
  • Experience in tax compliance reporting audits and tax planning preferably within a U.S.-based multinational environment with knowledge of ASC 740 and FIN 48.
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects manage multiple stakeholders and deliver results in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to translate complex tax matters into practical business solutions.
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills with experience leveraging technology to enhance tax reporting and compliance processes.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with business leaders finance teams external advisors auditors and tax authorities.
  • Hospitality industry experience is a plus.

Education or Certification

  • Bachelors degree in accounting Finance Taxation Economics or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CPA CICPA CTA ACCA HKICPA or an equivalent accounting or tax qualification.
  • Masters degree in taxation Accounting Finance Law or a related discipline preferred.

  • High level of integrity professionalism accountability and attention to detail.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and develop high-performing teams.
