We are looking for a highly motivated Research Scientist in robot joint module system design and control to develop cutting-edge control technologies for next-generation robotic actuators and joint modules.
The position focuses on module-level control of a single robotic joint covering motor control actuator control sensing system modeling and the interaction between control and joint hardware. Candidates with strong backgrounds in motor control servo control motion control electromechanical actuators or precision drive systems are highly welcome even without direct experience in robotics.
Main responsibility includes:
- Conduct research pre-development and patent filing of innovative control concepts for robotic joint modules and electromechanical actuators
- Develop advanced motor and actuator control algorithms for single-joint robotic modules
- Design and optimize torque/current velocity and position control loops for high-performance robotic actuators
- Develop control strategies to achieve high torque density dynamic response positioning accuracy stability and energy efficiency
- Conduct research on disturbance rejection friction compensation feedforward control parameter identification and model-based control for robotic joint modules
- Develop and validate torque control and force-related control functions for robotic actuators including impedance/compliance control where appropriate
- Analyze the influence of gearbox/transmission friction backlash stiffness inertia load variation and mechanical resonance on joint control performance
- Conduct system modeling simulation and experimental validation of motortransmissionsensorcontrollerload systems
- Implement and validate control algorithms on real-time embedded platforms and conduct prototype testing and performance optimization
- Work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to optimize joint hardware and control as an integrated system
- Work closely with corporate research hub in Renningen Germany on project activities and competence development
- Work closely with business units to supply cutting edge and competitive technology solutions and to transform them to products

- 开展电机机械传动传感器控制器负载系统的建模仿真及实验验证
- 在实时嵌入式控制平台上实现并验证控制算法开展样机测试及性能优化
- 与机械及电气研发人员紧密合作实现关节硬件与控制系统的一体化优化
- 与德国Renningen中央研究院团队紧密合作开展项目研发及技术能力建设
- 与博世各业务部门紧密合作为业务部门提供具有竞争力的前沿技术解决方案并推动技术成果向产品转化
Qualifications :
Master degree w/ 3 years working experience or PhD degree in electrical engineering control engineering automation mechatronics or related majors
Expert knowledge and rich experience in electric motor control servo control or actuator control with strong theoretical and practical understanding of closed-loop control systems
Strong expertise in PMSM/BLDC motor control including FOC/SVPWM current/torque control velocity control and position control
Strong experience in servo system design controller tuning system identification and dynamic performance optimization
Experience with advanced control methods such as feedforward control disturbance rejection friction compensation model-based control adaptive control observer-based control or vibration suppression
Experience on robot joint / robotic actuator control is a strong plus; candidates from industrial servo precision motion control aerospace actuators electric drives or other electromechanical systems are also highly welcome
Good understanding of robotic joint module hardware is necessary including motor gearbox/transmission encoder bearing actuator electronics and mechanical load
Good understanding of the impact of gear ratio backlash friction stiffness inertia transmission efficiency and mechanical resonance on actuator control performance
Experience with real-time implementation of control algorithms on DSP MCU FPGA or other embedded control platforms is necessary
Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink or other system modeling and simulation tools
Good at programming (C/C Python MATLAB etc.) is necessary
Experience with torque sensing force sensing impedance control compliant control or high-performance robotic actuators is a plus
